4. Filter switch
On the iDAC2, using the True Native®
Burr-Brown chipset, it is possible to
enjoy music on the following filter
options under PCM/DSD/DXD formats.
On the casework, the filters are marked
according to the PCM convention but
for DSD they are in the same order as
above so ‘Bit-Perfect’ = ‘Extreme’ and so
on.
For DXD, the filter setting is fixed at Bit-
Perfect.
For best sonics, with PCM music, we
recommend ‘Bit-Perfect’ and for DSD
music files, ‘Extreme’. But please try the
different settings and see which you
prefer as music is a matter of personal
choice.

5. USB Input
From computer or iDevice. As long as
the computer software and a
respectable USB cable is used, PCM up
to 384KHz and DSD up to Quad
DSD256 are supported by the iDAC2.
As the iDAC2 draws its power from the
USB power line, for portable devices,
depending upon the manufacturer,
some products will ‘allow’ the iDAC2
to draw power and some may not. For
those that do (eg Android tablets),
then the iDAC2 can also be used ‘on
the go’.
