GETTING STARTED
What’s In The Box?
• 1 x wiCICLE
®
Skywire Wireless DMX Receiver
• An AC power adaptor (5VDC, 1000ma)
Getting It Out Of The Box
The wiCICLE
®
Skywire Wireless DMX receiver is a teeny-tiny, really powerful, really
useful tool for decableifying your existence. Just think, no more becoming wrapped
from head to toe in DMX cables and struggling to escape for hours on end. Whew!
Well, now that you’ve got your wiCICLE
®
Skywire, you should carefully unpack the
box and check the contents to ensure that all parts are present and in good condition.
If anything looks as if it has been damaged in transit, notify the shipper immediately
and keep the packing material for inspection. Again, please save the carton and all
packing materials. If a îšżxture must be returned to the factory, it is important that the
îšżxture be returned in the original factory box and packing.
Powering Up! PLEASE READ THIS SECTION
The wiCICLE
®
Skywire can be powered using the included AC power adaptor (“Wall-
Wart,”) or directly via Blizzard Lighting products which are labelled as “wiCICLE
®
En-
abled.” These xtures employ special circuitry which allows the wiCICLE
®
to receive
power directly from the XLR connector body. Look for this logo on select îšżxtures:
• ONLY xtures bearing this logo are certied
for use with the wiCICLE
®
without external
power.
• Unauthorized modication and/or using
the wiCICLE
®
with unapproved îšżxtures
may cause damage to the wiCICLE
®
or îšżx-
ture. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS BLIZ-
ZARD LIGHTING RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE FROM SUCH OPERATION.
• Fixtures bearing the above logo MUST only use cable and connectors which sepa-
rate chassis/case ground from cable shielding. Cabling with the shield connected to
the connector’s case/chassis may cause malfunction and damage to the wiCICLE
®
or
îšżxture.
• All xtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit and cannot be run off a
rheostat (variable resistor) or dimmer circuit, even if the rheostat or dimmer
channel is used solely for a 0% to 100% switch.
Please carefully read and understand the instructions in this manual thor-
oughly before attempting to operate this unit. These instructions contain
important safety information regarding the use and maintenance of this unit.
Please keep this manual with the unit, for future reference.

POSSIBLE CONFIGURATIONS
The diagrams below show possible conîšżgurations. Multiple receivers may
be used in any possible conîšżguration.
OPTION 1. A transmitter (MALE XLR CONNECTOR) is connected to the
output of the controller, and a receiver (FEMALE XLR CONNECTOR) is
connected at the input of the îšżrst DMX îšżxture.
OPTION 2. A transmitter (MALE XLR CONNECTOR) is connected to the
output of a DMX îšżxture, and a receiver (FEMALE XLR CONNECTOR) is
connected to the input of the next DMX îšżxture.
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, YOU SHOULD DISABLE ANY BUILT-IN
PROGRAMS IN THE FIXTURES YOU WISH TO CONNECT AND/OR SET THEM AS
SLAVES PRIOR TO RETURNING THEM TO DMX MODE (IF APPLICABLE). Most
îšżxtures contain a built-in automatic, sound active or custom program which
is designed to operate with the îšżxture NOT connected to a DMX chain.
Some of these programs will automatically run unless the îšżxture is set to slave mode.
These îšżxtures typically sense DMX automatically and switch to DMX mode upon
receiving DMX signal (our Pucks do that!)
Ready to move on? Well alrighty!
1. If you’re using an external wireless DMX transmitter like our wiCICLE® transmitter
or LightCaster® Transceiver, plug it into the “DMX OUT” connector of the controller
and verify it is receiving power. If you are using a DMX controller with a built-in DMX
transmitter like our KONTROL 5 SKYWIRE™, enable the DMX transmitter on that
unit. Please refer to that controller’s user manual for specic instructions on enabling
wireless DMX output.
2. Plug in the wiCICLE
®
Skywire to the îšżxture and verify it is receiving power (the
STATUS LED should illuminate.)
3. Press the CHANNEL SET button to select your desired operating channel group
(this setting will be stored for future use.)
The 7-Color Status LED will change color to indicate the current channel group:
· GROUP 1: RED
· GROUP 2: GREEN
· GROUP 3: YELLOW
· GROUP 4: BLUE
· GROUP 5: VIOLET
· GROUP 6: CYAN
· GROUP 7: WHITE
4. Follow the same procedure on the transmitter to select the channel group.
5. The LED on the transmitter will blink RED slowly until communication is
established with the receiver. The status LED on the receiving xtures will ash
GREEN slowly until communication is established.
6. Once the clearest channel is auto-selected, the status LEDs will blink quickly on
both the transmitter and receiver. NOTE: The color of status LED DURING operation
does not indicate channel group. Instead, like all Blizzard Lighting transmitters and
receivers do, it indicates whether the unit is transmitting or receiving. That’s It!

OPERATION, TIPS & TRICKS
First, you’ll either need a Blizzard wiCICLE® transmitter, Lightcaster™ wireless
transceiver, or any Blizzard Lighting controller that has a built-in wireless transmitter
(such as the Kontrol 5 Skywire™) to act as a transmitter for your lights. The 7-color
coded frequencies of the wiCICLE
®
Skywire match up perfectly with all Blizzard
wireless DMX products. If you’re using a Blizzard Lighting controller with built-in
wireless DMX transmission (such as the Kontrol 5 Skywire™), please refer to the
instruction manual of that controller for more information.
